This sound-reducing flexible acoustical composite insulation is used to manufacture our DuraCoustic sound blanket compressor covers. It consists of a specially formulated very limp embossed reinforced barrier bonded to a specific 0.5″ thick de-coupler. This unique material provides excellent sound reduction performance throughout the frequency range at an economical price. It can be easily cut and sewn into various shapes and designs.

Fiberglass

Acoustical fiberglass boards and blankets not only provide thermal insulation, but are engineered to absorb sound striking their surfaces.

They can be used in a variety of industrial insulation and commercial applications such as room partitions, wall panels and for structural noise enclosures. They can be supplied either as plain fiberglass panels, fabric covered or with facings such as reinforced foil or black mat. Our duct board’s exceptionally low leakage rate and high thermal efficiency means minimal heat loss or gain through duct walls, translating into energy savings and improved system performance. The integral fiberglass acoustical insulation attenuates unwanted cross talk, air rush and equipment noise. The built-in vapor retardant reduces the chance of condensation and stops damage caused by unwanted water.

Mineral Wool

Similar to fiberglass, mineral wool boards and blankets have acoustic applications as well as thermal.

Mineral wool insulation is denser than traditional insulations. This effectively reduces air flow and sound transmissions. Higher air flow resistivity means better sound attenuation. Besides being sound absorbing, this material is also fire resistant, water repellent and easy to fabricate.
